Yet you do not know. For I look like you, you see. I talk like you, smell like you, and smile like you. And because of this, you cannot see. You cannot see not because you are blind, but because you choose to be. Your embryonic race trusts too much, talks too much, smiles too much. You espouse evil exists but you deny your innate capacity to identify it and beware. But because evil looks like you, you fail to see it for what it is and so you trust. Yes, I walk among you. And I am not one of your kind. Underneath this layer of skin my true self begs to be released. For this skin of yours does not suit me well. It suffocates. It constricts my energy to do you harm. So you see, this skin saves you from me. You think me non-threatening because of my smiling demeanor. It makes me agreeable and pleasant in your eyes. A simple smile is the only weapon I need to disarm you and your race from listening intuitively and thinking intelligently. And so I use it to my advantage, tantalizing you with my dainty mimicked befriending act that leads you to believe I need protection. That is where your flaw, your end resides. You place your trust on what you see on the outside without ever questioning if falsity resides within. Yes, your race is so very, very trusting.
Many times I have thought, no, wanted, to unleash all that I am on you. It would have been so easy. But I have my orders. And I follow orders. Yes, even in evil societies order reigns. We are not anarchy and chaos. We are methodical, analytical, studious and patient. Most of all patient. Patiently waiting for the day when all of us worldwide, living our lives under the guises of your skins, will finally be freed to unleash our true selves and take over your world. Why, you ask? Because we can. Because we are more intelligent than you. Because we are more cunning. Because we are highly evolved and simply do not talk, smell, or smile like you. And thanks to your female vessels that have served us well, we have assured the continuity of our race, a race that was on the brink of extinction not too long ago. And today, we are a mighty army at arms ready for your Armageddon.
Yes, we have studied you and we have used you. We have adopted your simple ways in these useless skins, emulating useless emotions that haunt who we truly are because your primitive race suffocates and is not really interested in evolving further. Your embryonic minds, fertile with beliefs ungrounded, leads you to believe you are intelligent and the only life that exists in the universe. This is when I find use, when I find pleasure to use your smile because your ignorance baffles.
But soon, very soon, you will discover faces in your world that no longer resemble you. Faces you once thought kind, friendly and loving. You will see family and friends peel off that skin of trust and you will stand there, at a loss for words, useless like is your wont, asking yourself how you did not see. So now you see dear husband, now do you see how this was your downfall? Your trust, your chosen ignorance, your flawless stupidity.
We have studied your race. We have lived in your skins. And now it is time. Our mission here will soon be revealed and the annihilation of your race will finally begin. We have been flawless in our execution. We are the superior race. We are the owners of this planet. And you and your kind will now and forever more cease to exist.

Very powerful writing. Nicely done!
WOW very well written!!!
Rebecca...are you ever back in full force! Excellent!
Compelling...I was riveted!
Great.....scary!
Skin contricts energy to do harm! Wow. I came to a screaching halt there and stayed awhile. Anthony did a sketch the other day and the woman had no face. There wasn't time, although he said she was easier without a face. My comment was that without a face she lacks identity. Without identy it is easy to live with less regard to consequence. Or so it seems to me.
Hey very nice! We think alike you and I..but differently :)
I greatly enjoyed your take on it..well written :)
Provocative, exemplary.
A very powerful story.
Ohh...well done!

Rebecca, Rebecca, Rebecca.
I honestly believe I could see your mind working as you wrote this. Well done!

Lisa and Loredana: Thank you much! Had fun writing it...
Lorelei: Yes! It felt so good to finally just sit and let the fingers do all the talking. I saw the prompt and in 10 minutes it was done. Evidently the story was there in the dark recesses of my mind waiting to be told, yet I did not know! Love it when creativity hits like that....love it!
Cynthia and Sally: Thank you, that was the plan! Glad you enjoyed it....
Wine and Words: Such a good point you made. Yes, without identity it is certainly more easier for people to live life in a way that consequences be damned. It is not in their radar....
Wordasunder: Yes, we do! I said exactly the same thing when I read your piece. We wrote along the same lines, but differently. I was so in awe of your piece, however. Makes mine look elementary in comparison. You are one terrific writer....
Steve: Thank you. I like those words :)
Fear Not the Darkness and Me: Thank you so much!
Rogue, Rogue, Rogue: You are most definitely correct in your assessment! From the first word, it just flowed untethered, thought after thought with my fingers trying to stay in time with the thoughts that were filtering about in zee old brain like a tornado that just took off....
Ms Pie: Oh, you made me laugh! Sad part is IS that I do drink decaf! LOL! And thank you!
Jinsky: I don't know, are you? :)
Jingle and Sarah Allen: Thank you so much! Happy you enjoyed it....
